We are actively looking to recruit a track newbie for 2021! We would like to find a candidate who lives in Ohio, has not been on track before, but might have autocross experience. The commitment from a potential candidate is minimal; just three weekends!
If you have a car that you love, we want to talk to you! Maybe you’ve done some autocross or just enjoy ripping through gears on the freeway. If you’ve been curious about what it’s like on a controlled track environment, look us up! We will select one person for the 2021 season and enroll them in a introductory weekend with NASA Great Lakes. We will then spend a few weekends together, prior to the event:
- First weekend will be a car shakedown. Inspecting brakes, tires, suspension, and safety gear. We will then budget out repairs/updates and place the parts order.
- The next weekend will be time in the garage. Don’t worry! No major experience is necessary. We do expect you to know how to change a tire and maybe your oil – the rest we will teach and do together.
- The third weekend will be the track days with NASA Great Lakes! Candidates will go through a classroom session discussing the fundamentals of on track driving, safety, flags, etc. before going on track and learning how to put the classroom lessons to use in the real world!
